Making Smoothies with Leeks

Be sure to wash your leeks throroughly. Dirt can get trapped in their layers and dirt isn't an ingredient in our smoothies.

How to prepare leeks for smoothies

  1. Trim off the roots and the rough dark green parts on top.
  2. Cut them in half lengthways
  3. Wash thoroughly, spreading the layers while rinsing.

We think it's possible that the rough dark green parts could be added to your smoothie, but to be honest, we haven't experimented with leeks enough to know how it comes out.

Do I need to cook it first?

Nope, you can eat leeks raw.
