Peaches are small round stone fruits (comparable in size to small apples) that grow on trees. They have thin, fuzzy skin, with juicy, tender, sweet tasting flesh (when ripe). Peaches vary in color from white to yellow, orange, and red in color. While both the skin and flesh of peaches are edible, the single seed in the center of the fruit is not.
