Making Smoothies with Papaya

Papaya is a large tropical treefruit, sometimes called "papaw" or "pawpaw." Papaya fruit is sphere-shaped and can range in size from roughly 7 to 20 inches in length. Ripe fruits have mostly yellow skin (may have some green remaining), with soft, buttery textured, peachy-orange or yellow flesh dotted with several black seeds in the center. Ripe papayas have a sweet, musky flavor and also contain notes of melon.
