Pineapples are a large tropical fruits that grow on ground-dwelling plants. The pineapple fruit grows from a stem and is surrounded by long, green, pointed leaves. The fruit is oval in shape, with stiff, pointed leaves growing from it's top. The skin of the fruit is rough and scaly, while the flesh is tender, juicy, and sweet in flavor. When ripe, pineapples can be both partly green, brown and yellow, to golden-yellow in color outside, while ranging from pale to deep yellow inside.
